All of our scriptures, from the Ved and Upnishad, to the Gita, to the Darshan Shastras, to the Puran or Ramayan, are not meant to be read or studied on one’s own. Everywhere our scriptures warn us that to do so will only lead to confusion and false pride of knowingness. The only way to learn the philosophy of the Puran is to learn it directly from a Guru (God realized mahapurush).
