Give To Charity In The US

For the welfare of humanity, Radha Madhav Dham’s local mission includes serving the poor and needy in the Greater Austin Community through participation in interfaith outreach programs and supporting local charitable activities

Local Austin Based Relief Projects

In partnership with Hindu Charities of India, Radha Madhav Dham frequently sponsors ‘school drives’ – where volunteers collect, purchase and fill up bags with essential school supplies like note books, writing pads, pens, colors pencils etc.  to give as “back to school gifts” to underprivileged children  of Austin local communities. backpacks_3backpacks_6 providing backpacks_2

In the recent years, during Hurricane Katrina, Hurricane Rita and other such natural disasters, Radha Madhav Dham offered shelter for several weeks to victim families from Texas and New Orleans who had to evacuate their homes.  Free shelter, food, clothing and essential items were supplied and special spiritual services held for families in need. Frequent Blood Camps are organized at the temple premises, where residents and visitors happily participate in Red Cross Blood Drives.

Be The Change Austin

Radha Madhav Dham devotees participate in the annual national day of service to inspire and foster civic engagement through volunteerism and community service. Below, a group of Radha Madhav Dham devotees cleaning up the Chicon area in Austin.

Afterwards, we enjoy a Community Celebration on the South Steps of the Texas Capital including reading of city proclamation, addresses by Council Members, State Representatives, food, & entertainment including special guest performance by local musicians and entertainers. As part of the event, Radha Madhav Dham has a booth at the South Steps of the Texas Capital to promote volunteerism. The booth brings a steady stream of interested visitors who have a chance to receive answers to their questions about Radha Madhav Dham’s charitable works. Many express interest in coming here for a visit, or to volunteer for many of our local relief efforts. The more volunteers we have, the more we can accomplish together.

Be the Change Austin is a citywide day of service. This year’s Be the Change National Day of Service in Austin will kick off on Sunday, September 29th, with a celebration at University of Texas, followed by service projects throughout the rest of the day.
